Parenting Tale of Rati Chaudhary, Group Ethics Head, Capgemini

Multitasking as the Head of Group Ethics at Capgemini, a mom and now an Instagram influencer, Rati would qualify as the archetypal superwoman. THMC caught up with her on how this year has been and what it means to manage so many roles.

How was it juggling a full time career, a passion and parenting?

I took a sabbatical in 2018 and struggled to get a job for an entire year. I had nothing for a year. In 2019 I started my Instagram blogging. In 2020 , I got a great job which paved my way back into corporate world. Currently I have a global role in an MNC and i have also started monetizing my blogging. I am very busy nowadays but I don’t complain because I know how I felt when I had nothing.
Thanks to support I get from my husband and a very nice house help, Maya (my 4 year old) is managed very well. I try and engage her in my blogging activities so that there is something for us to do together.

What have been your five key learnings as a parent this year?

To be a parent is to constantly learn and evolve. From my standpoint:

I have learnt to appreciate every second I spend with my daughter. Value for life and family has become too high.

I have learnt I have to watch every step I take, every word I utter because my daughter is watching everything and learning.

Kids are not born with habits, they learn from parents. My daughter never uses the phone or ipad because we have not conditioned her that way

I need to not look for opportunities to avoid spending time with her because soon she will have her own life
