Why Is Children’s Day Celebrated?

Children’s Day is a national holiday celebrated every year on the 14th of November. The purpose of the day is to celebrate children and promote their welfare. The day is primarily celebrated to remember Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary.

Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14th November 1889 to Pt. Motilal Nehru and Swarup Rani Nehru. 14 November is celebrated in India as “Bal Divas” or popularly known as “Children’s Day” in recognition of his lifelong passion and work for the welfare, education, and development of children and young people.  Children across India remember him as Chacha Nehru, he had a lot of love and dedication towards children. He believed in the vision that the children are the future of the Nation.

Special Events – On Children’s day there are many special events organised to celebrate this fun day, most malls, parks, and stores also have great events planned for children of all ages.

Theme Party –  You can arrange a theme party for your kids and their friends. Everybody can dress up as their role models and inspirations.There isn’t any activity that is as fun or creative for kids as costume parties. 

Play enactment – There are many ways to nurture your children’s creativity. For example, you can try having them act out a story from the life of Jawaharlal Nehru or any other patriotic hero of our Nation or create an original play on their own. 

Painting  – Children love to paint, they find it a way to express their emotions and how they feel. You can set up a proper paint area for them.
